The god of this world is on a mission, to TWIST the truth of the bible, and its understanding. He uses ignorant people, even evangelists, pastors and teachers Paul said, “from your own number, men will arise to Twist the truth, in order to draw away disciples after them.” The same twisting is apparent today.
Their works-based, false gospel, breeds fear and pride which they claim is the good news. But thank God, Paul warned us of this, when he said, “command certain people, not to teach false doctrines, any longer,” and when Peter warned, “there would be false teachers among you,” who are, “IGNORANT and UNSTABLE PEOPLE,” and would “Twist” the truth.
They throw people into confusion by appealing to their vainglory, fears and works-based mentality by teaching the false doctrine, “try to change your behavior, and try to do good” and then you “might possibly” be accepted by God, possibly, but you never know, only if you can be good enough long enough.
1 Timothy 1:3

In fact, Paul, who is stunned, rebukes the Galatians, who have fallen victim to these false teachers, and calls them deserters or literally turncoat traitors. But traitor’s? What would call for such a harsh rebuke? Did they renounce Christ, or accept a new god? The answer is yes, the god they began trusting in, was themselves.
They started out believing that Christ would keep them all the way to the end, but the false teachers convinced them, it was now up to them to keep themselves. They started out believing that Christ, who began a good work in them, would finish it, but the false teachers convinced them that it was now up to them, that they needed to finish it.
And they started out believing that God would do this, because he was Faithful, but the false teachers now convinced them that they couldn’t trust Him, who is faithful, they needed to be faithful, and it all depended on their faithfulness now. These false teachers are throwing people into confusion, and are twisting the truth.
Galatians 1:6,7

Unfortunately, many of us start out believing and trusting in the grace of God, until a fear-based, self-righteous spirit comes along and makes our biblical disciplines a work, by which we might try to possibly be saved one day. Paul denounces those who do this, as “foolish,” and equates this to, “beginning in the Spirit,” and then “finishing by means of the flesh.”
The bible is clear that anyone who trusts in themselves, that is… their works, behavior, or goodness is under a curse. This self-righteous mindset and behavior is not approved of biblically by God, from Cain to Christ, He is clear! He will not have little prideful, self-righteous kids running around who think they are better than others, and talking down on others because they don’t keep the rules as well as they do, or who think they have earned God’s acceptance.
If you have heard this, or someone gave you this impression, scripture is clear, that they are throwing you into confusion, and have Twisted the truth of the scriptures.
Galatians 3
2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by keeping the rules, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or through faith?

You see, the Spirit of God, the Power of God, and salvation, only come by Grace through Faith, it is not as result of ourselves, that is our works, goodness, or good behavior, no, it is a FREE GIFT, not by our works, lest any man self-righteously boast. Paul says again this way, “Did you receive the Spirit by keeping the rules, or by believing…?”
Nobody ever tells us that the work of Salvation is a continuous work, by God himself, all the way until the end. They never tell you that the sacrifice of Jesus was a life-time, continuous sacrifice.
Because of this, we only try to trust in what He’s done in the past, but never in what He’s done, is doing, and promised He will continue to do, in the future. We put His, one time only, work on the shelf, and now the rest of our lives we strive to try to keep, by our works, what we were freely given by His Work. Just remember, anyone who teaches, finish by works, and not by believing, is throwing you into confusion, and twisting the scriptures.

Again, to trust in your good or bad works is what the bible refers to as ‘bewitchment.’ The Greek word translated, “bewitched,” is to literally “put somebody under a curse, by appealing to their vanity, selfishness, or pride.”
So how does this work? It’s simple. The twisted false teacher will tell you that you can ambitiously become somebody, appealing to your vanity. They’ll tell you that you are approved of and accepted by your performance, appealing to your pride. Believing this will only end in boasting, that says, “look at what I’ve accomplished and done,” or fearfulness, because you’ll never know if you’ve done enough.
They say that salvation is only truly given to the strong and persevering who strive to the end, and who can prove themselves worthy of keeping it, by their works. But Paul calls this false teaching, a “different gospel,” which is no gospel at all. These false teachers are throwing people into confusion, and twisting the truth of the gospel that only comes by grace through faith, lest any man boast.

These traitors, who teach that you can be accepted by your own efforts and behavior modification, have been alienated and cut themselves and their listeners off from the Grace of God, and have fallen from Grace.
Let’s make this clear. Nobody is accepted and approved of by their good works or behavior, NOR their bad works or behavior. Good or bad. Behavior modification is not your promise to God, but is His promise to you, and is a result of receiving His Spirit! Behavior modification is HIS work, and our work, is to believe in His Work!
The bible says that “none of your efforts to please God has any value! None. The only thing that counts is Faith in a Loving God, who has offered himself as a sacrifice for your sins, ONCE FOR ALL TIME. For your entire existence. Anybody who teaches you any different, is teaching a different gospel, and is throwing you into confusion and twisting the scriptures, causing you to fall from Grace. Don’t take the bait!

4 You who are trying to be accepted by your efforts have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 6 For in Christ Jesus none of your efforts to please God has any value. THE ONLY THING that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

God has not called us to rely on rule keeping as a means of acceptance. We’re son’s through faith in His Work, NOT OUR WORKS. Our inheritance doesn’t not depend on OUR ABILITY to keep the law or OUR GOODNESS, but depends on His Work, and HIS GOODNESS.
For all who rely on keeping the rules to be accepted, are under a curse. NO, we rely on the Love of God, and the Love he has for us. And this love was made manifest, through the FINISHED, work of His Son, Jesus Christ, who has made an eternal, not temporary, covenant of FAITH, with an eternal promised inheritance. When we BELIEVED, not BEHAVED, we are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a GUARANTEE of this inheritance!
Make a decision today, to throw off this false, twisted, foolish gospel of works and behavior modification, and fix our eyes on Him, who is not only the author but the FINISHER of our faith, that is, Him, who in his last breath said, “It is finished!”
